AMD is committed to carbon accounting and sustainability, with an upskilled team actively working on our carbon neutrality. We have measured our carbon emissions for the last two financial years and have achieved carbon neutral certification under the Climate Active program.
We have undertaken initiatives such as purchasing carbon credits for environmental projects, installed 92 solar panels at our Bunbury office, and contributed to reforestation efforts in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor.
AMD’s Environmental, Social Governance (ESG) team are also well positioned to support other businesses measure their carbon emissions and develop their ESG strategy. Additionally, we have partnered with Sumday to assess clients’ carbon emissions, and we’re on track to become a Sumday Certified Advisor.
Prior to becoming an acronym, the firm was well known as Anderson Mountford Down & Co. Established as a one-man-band in 1982 by Cliff Anderson (the A), he was joined two years later by Geoff Mountford (the M), and in 1985 Steve Down (the D), jumped on board. In 1999, the trio set about acquiring two competitors, Ernst n Whinney, and Manolas & Partners. It was in 2000 that, with the business growing, the name was shortened to AMD.
